This still widely undiscovered surfing area in Portugal offers you beach breaks as well as reef breaks. As the coast of Alentejo cannot yet be found on every surfer’s map, you will find fewer tourists and surfers in and out of the water. This gives you the advantage to enjoy the line-up with only a few people and to be able to fully concentrate on your surfing. Not quite as constant as the region around Lisbon, Alentejo still offers very good surfing conditions for every level. Advanced surfers and pros should come here especially from September to May when the autumn and winter swells arrive on the Portuguese coast. The surf spots on the Alentejo coast have a wide swell window and almost always deliver surfable waves. In addition, the climate is much warmer than in the north of Portugal.
